Two Millersville seniors win degrees in Library Science and English
Miss Geraldine Wolfe daughter of Mr and Mrs Rollin Wolfe of 619 West Main Street earned a Bachelor of Science in Library Science at Millersville State Teachers College on May 29. She joined the Library Science Club and Page Literary Society and will teach English and serve as school librarian at Manor Millersville High School. Miss Mary Grace Metford daughter of Dr and Mrs Ellis H Metford of Kinzer Avenue graduated from Perin Hall Junior College Chambersburg on June 5 and will pursue a BS in Commerce and Finance at Penn State while having been active in athletic and Corinthian clubs at Penn Hall.

Ranck's Church to Receive Funds With Court OK
Orphans Court in East Earl Township approved a $4,219 distribution from the estate of the late John M. Ranck of New Holland to Ranck's Evangelical United Brethren Church. The funds support a new church edifice and a memorial window, with whether the project qualifies as a new edifice debated before Judge John L. Bowman.

Dial Phones Expected to Be in Use Here This Year
Enterprise Telephone Company officials say the dial system will be in operation here by year end 1950. An $80,000 building on Diller Avenue is under construction to house public offices and the dial equipment on the first floor with toll switchboards and directors rooms on the second. The project is part of a $200,000 modernization plan and about $125,000 will be spent on the new equipment. After local conversion the Intercourse exchange will not be dial until it is completed.

Unusual Sunday Drive Spooks New Holland Readers
An early Sunday scene in New Holland drew heads turn when a car on Main Street paused at a green light. A Main Street businessman rode in the back seat with his arm around the steering wheel as the driver attempted to take back routes home. The driver refused, revealing a curious backroad escape.

Legion Home Carnival Set For June Seventeenth On Grounds
The Legion Home Association invites all members to a Saturday festival on the Legion Carnival Grounds near West Main Street. School Board Awards Paving and Painting Contracts
The New Holland Board of Education awarded paving and exterior painting work to Musselman Bros, New Holland for 111,000. Mentzer's Decorators won exterior painting of the school and principal's home for 1,155. The resignation of art teacher Fr Ann Knerr was accepted. A commercial dishwasher for the cafeteria went to a Philadelphia firm. First grade enrollment is 52 and kindergarten 47. Plans for borough building alterations are with an architect.

Farm Show Directors Hold Dinner Meeting
