New Outfit Joins County Fire Fighters Parade
Fifteen companies and eleven bands plan to join the parade at the Lancaster County Firemen's Association convention in Millersville on June 3. Each fire company will enter a young lady in a beauty contest at 7 PM with a silver cup for the winner. The Good Will Fire Company of Washington Boro was elected a member, and Strasburg Fire Company is expected to join within a month. Chief Paul Z Knier reported fourteen fires in June with losses of 21935 and 70804 in insurance, urging citizen cooperation on investigations.
