On July 30 1887 two daughters of S B Sheafner Margie and Katie joined a berry gathering north of Churchtown. A wagon wheel broke causing the wagon to topple and the horse to bolt. All riders escaped injury except Margie who received a facial bruise. Nearby East Earl township residents held a meeting on Terre Hill school safety with about 500 people.
