Festival in Styer House orchard boosts band funds
On July 28 1888 a festival in the Styer House orchard drew over a thousand attendees with three bands from Bowmansville Churchtown and New Holland Band aiding the local group. The event added $100 to the band treasury and passed without disturbance though a street fight was reported. A citizens committee led by A W Snader aimed to raise $300 for a band wagon. John M Shirk found his borrowed team returned. two boys lost fingers in a feed cutter accident. A dam project near Oregon was announced.
