Successful Observance of 100th Anniversary Closed by Odd Fellows
Earl Lodge No. 418 S O O F of New Holland celebrated its hundredth anniversary on July 20 21 with an Encampment Celebration in Trinity Lutheran Church Parish House. Grand Lodge officers attended and delivered brief addresses after a program including music by the Lutheran Church Sunday School hestra and refreshments. The Subordinate Lodge event followed at New Holland High School auditorium with guests from Lancaster County Lodges and a keynote by State Grand Master Roy H Persons and Grand Secretary Shannon.

Pfc Howard W Lutz Jr twenty six son of Howard W Lutz and the late Mrs Lutz is Lancaster County's first casualty report ed in the Korean War He was listed by the Defense Department last week as missing in action as of July 12 and among 138 Air Force men reported missing in the conflict He was a war veteran and paratrooper who reenlisted after his mother's death He attended Ephrata High School and lived with his father on Pleasant View Hill He has a brother Elwood and a sister Mrs Harold Sandoe residing in nearby towns.

Two New Teachers Elected By Borough School Board
At a July meeting of the New Holland School Board Mrs. Milton Paul was elected kindergarten teacher and Sigurd C Sundberg of Myerstown was chosen for the combined fifth and sixth grade class. The furniture contract for both rooms went to L B Herr & Son of Lancaster for 1029 dollars.
