The bucket brigade struggled to contain the blaze as the barn’s contents, including livestock, were destroyed. Mrs Henninger has since buried a family member in a local cemetery.

The New Holland Hook and Ladder Company hosted a festival in Martinsa Orchard last Saturday. Despite a heavy afternoon shower reducing attendance, about a thousand people enjoyed the event. Proceeds from the goods sold totaled a neat sum as the New Holland Band provided music and the crowd behaved well.

Open Air Meeting of Senior L T L Held on Lawn
The Senior L T L met last Friday evening at H Bowers lawn instead of Mrs Alta Diller home due to heat. After minutes readings there were recitations and readings. The anti narcotics department was adopted replacing Sabbath observance by order of the county convention executive session. Refreshments of candy cakes and lemonade were served. The August meeting will be at Ralph Mutoh home.
