Obituary for Jacob H. Lichliter at 87 in Lancaster
Jacob Henry Lichliter aged 87 died Monday night at 11 55 at his niece Miss Ethel Whitmore 302 West Orange St after a 15 year illness. Born March 18 1848 in Woodsock Virginia he studied at Lancaster schools Mercersburg College Franklin and Marshall College class of 1873 and Columbia Law School. He practiced law in Washington DC for 42 years with two years in Dayton Ohio. He is survived by nieces and nephews and was a longtime member of LaFayette Lodge 19 F and A M. A Masonic funeral was held at 302 West Orange St with interment in Massanutten Cemetery Woodstock Virginia.

Akron farmer L. Ruppin dies after operation in Lancaster
L. Ruppin of Akron and a leading Lancaster county farmer died at Lancaster General Hospital at 6 10 p m Tuesday from complications after emergency surgery Saturday. He was 67 and active in agricultural uplift efforts and orange circles statewide, serving as president of the Lancaster County National Farm Loan Association and helping organize the Production Credit Association of Lancaster in 1934. He also held director and officer roles in the Lancaster County Tobacco Growers Association.
