Ephrata Fireman Dies After Alarm Crush Tragedy
Isaac Dunn a fireman and janitor at Ephrata Municipal Hall died at Lanier General Hospital from internal injuries after being crushed between a fire truck and the hall door while responding to a blaze in Fry's Mill Ephrata township. The Horning home near Fry's Mill was destroyed with clothing left to dry near an oil stove blamed for the fire. Neighbors and multiple fire companies from Ephrata Reamstown Rothsville Lititz responded but arrived too late to save the Nine room house and its contents. The loss was not insured and Horning plans to rebuild.

George S. Cooper Dies After Long Illness at Murrell
George S. Cooper 52 a former rural mail carrier of Ephrata died at his Murrell home after two years with a leaking heart. He resigned from the post in December 1925. A prominent lodgeman he belonged to I O O F Lodge 406 Eph rata Cloister and Encampment 248. Survived by son Samuel and three sisters Mrs Darnes Murrell Mrs Roger Ephrata and Mrs Mohler New Holland. Funeral Saturday at Bergstrasse Church near Ephrata at 10 with interment in the adjoining cemetery.

Lions Picnic At Ephrata Park Draws Hundreds
The New Holland and Ephrata Lions clubs held the first annual outing at Ephrata Park on Wednesday afternoon and evening. A perfect day featured a baseball game and contests, supper at 6, and an 8 to 11 pm dance with Whitey Trapnell Orchestra of Lancaster.

Ladies Aid Outing to Mt Gretna Bypasses Rain
About fifty five members and friends of the Ladies Aid Society of St Stephen Reformed Church enjoyed the annual outing to Mt Gretna. The trip used passenger cars and the Mark Hirshman bus Miss Ephrata carried many travelers. Rain spoiled the day until 4 PM but Groff Cottage hosted the group and LeRoy W Groff's family. They had dinner at Kauffman Hotel and a light evening luncheon before returning home.
