Former teacher, graduate of Sidney Pussey Seminary and Millersville State Normal School. Funeral Friday at 11 from her residence. Interment in Sadsbury Friends burying grounds.

Susan Lynes aged 75 died early Tuesday at Lancaster County Hospital after a year of treatment. She had lived at the Mennonite Home Oroville for five years and with Mrs Dolly Hess New Providence for many years. A Mennonite church member she was the last of her family. Funeral services were held Thursday at 2 30 p m at Charles F Hess residence New Providence and private interment followed in the Mennonite cemetery New Providence.

Paradise Boy Drowns In Creek Near Home
Emery R Hershey 14 or 15, of Seaman Place Paradise, swung from a wire over Pequea creek near his home and fell in. Unable to swim, he drowned after about fifteen minutes in water fifteen feet deep. Bystander Meade Kember dived to recover the body, and he was taken to Lancaster General Hospital where he was pronounced dead. An inquest returned an accidental drowning verdict. He was a nephew of C E Roseboro and survived by parents, one brother Louis and a sister Mary Elizabeth. Funeral held Wednesday.

Albert Boots, accused of beating Mrs. Elsie Jones in the Welsh Mountains camp, confessed to striking her with a buggy whip over a disputed jug of wine. Three thousand people gathered Saturday evening at the Bereville Fire Company event held in the Groff residence grove. Music by the East Prospect Band from York accompanied twenty visitor cars. About two thousand dollars was raised for the Bareville Fire and Community House.
