Mrs Mary Geist widow of Adam Geist died at her Blue Ball home at 4 47 PM Thursday. Death followed long illnesses after her husband’s death in December. Aged 66, she was born near Intercourse, daughter of John Sheaffer, joined Christ Church then Trinity Lutheran Church New Holland. Survived by Ettie G Everett, Sallie Shirk, Mary Diller, Isaac Dague, Barry Geist, and others. Funeral Monday at 10 AM from her residence with 11 30 AM services at Trinity Lutheran Church Interment Lutheran cemetery.

Frightful Runaway In Ephrat a Causes Wagon Destruction
A Saturday runaway in Eph rata involved Amos Witmer and Mr Martin near Goodville. Their horse bolted down Main Street, struck a broken utility pole at Cocalloo Hotel, overturning the wagon. Martin escaped unharmed while Witmer suffered bruises to his right leg as the horse was captured and the wagon demolished.

Lightning destroys Amos Fridy barn near Mount Joy
A large frame barn on Amos Fridy’s West Donegal farm four miles west of Mount Joy was struck by lightning and burned down Monday evening. The 30 year old barn housed about 25 acres of hay and 50 acres of wheat. livestock and some implements were saved. The loss is about $3,000, partly insured, with nearby grain moved to an adjoining farm. The corn house roof burned but building and corn largely saved by bucket brigade. Tobacco shed and dwelling were in danger.
