Driving accident injures two men on trip to New Holland

A. G. Miller proprietor of the Engle hotel and Anon Friedel of Williamsport were injured after a buggy collision with a traction engine near Weaverland. Friedel escaped with shoulder injury and a leg wound while Miller suffered cuts to the left hand and knee, plus body bruises. Dr. Keller treated Miller and Friedel resumed travel.

Fire destroys row of dwellings near Marietta

At noon on Friday last, a fire at Watt's station east of Marietta destroyed a row of four frame, five stone, and three brick houses. Sparks from a railroad engine caused the blaze. Marietta borough aid was unavailable. Eight homes were occupied. losses estimated between 8000 and 310000.

Lewis McChies of Glen Moore Chester county died in Downingtown after a week of illness age forty nine. He was a farmer and stock dealer well known among the county drovers. He went to Downingtown for kidney trouble a week before his death and grew worse. He leaves a wife.

A Good Yield of Wheat Reported in Local Farm

Aleger of B Dewmannsville harvested a Renninger variety wheat crop yielding 277 pounds clean grain and 228 pounds of rankings from four geres. Per acre the yield equaled thirty nine bushels and thirty five pounds. Seed costs near ten cents with Burkholder noted for seed.
