The Lions Club of New Holland will hold its next regular meeting at Ye Colonial Lane Bareville on Tuesday evening July 28 at 8:00. To accommodate the Ladies Auxiliary short July August vacations, the two meetings next month move to the Boy Scout Hut south of town. Members should notify secretary J. Paul Kochel by Saturday if unable to attend.
On Tuesday afternoon a group of 9 scouts worked at the cabin until 5:00 then swam and pitched quoits before a supper served by Chef Davis. An 8:09 meeting closed with a Benediction and a town hike. Wednesday saw 18 scouts, including pee wees, depart for Frandts Mill with Chef Davis, Assistant Scoutmaster Sensenig, and Arnold Zwalley. visitors are invited to visit the camp.

Two committees plan an auto caravan tour to the Philadelphia Inquirer plant with 150 expected riders. The 7:80 start reaches the plant by 11:00 daylight time for a luncheon on the sixth floor and a guided tour of the plant. Participants must notify editor H E Regsler.
The Wright Bakery and Garage employes held their annual picnic on Wednesday at Wright Pond near Honey Brook. About seventy members attended enjoying volleyball baseball fishing bathing boating and quoits with refreshments of chicken corn soup ham cheese pretzels olives bananas ice cream and coffee.
About thirty eight members of the Ladies Aid Society and Ladies' Bible Class of St Stephen Reformed Church enjoyed their annual outing at Hershey Park on Wednesday. They traveled by special car and spent the day in many activities with refreshments served at the Park Cafeteria.
The New Holland Regulars travel to play Terre Hill this Saturday July 20 at 8 15 pm. After a loss on Terre Hill’s diamond Pop Geist’s Clan aims to even the series and urge fans to attend.
An all day open air Gospel meeting will be held at the home of Rev. Mr. H Hagler on the Welsh Mountains Sunday July 21 1929. This is the second such gathering at Mr Hagler's home and everybody is cordially invited to attend.
The July meeting of the Woman's Christian Temperance Union at Mrs. E. C. Diller's West Main Street home elected officers. President Anna Roland leads. Annie Boyer named vice president and secretary Alta M. Diller. treasurer Mrs. E. C. Diller. Delegates Roland Goop and Sensenig to County Convention at Lititz. Program included readings from Sensenig, Alta Diller, and Laura Rutter.
The Luther League of Trinity Lutheran Church held a social on the parsonage lawn on East Main Street in the borough. About seventy five members attended the Wednesday evening gathering.
Groff was shelled early but rebounded as the Lions built a nine run lead. Yuninger Irons and Lee Martin delivered triples while Groff and Bair doubled. Bensinger and Metford stole bases. Final line shows Kochel 7 strikeouts to Groff 3 as Lions prevailed.
Lee Martin pitched the Tigers to a 4-1 win over Tuffy Kochels Bears in seven innings. Martin allowed three safeties and struck out fourteen while helping his own cause with a triple and three singles. Parke Groff, Nelson, and Kauffman also contributed offensively in a game that featured Groff’s homer and a late Tigers rally.
The Bareville Fire Company Festival will feature The Boys Band of New Holland along with the City Band of Lancaster on Saturday evening July 20. Proceeds include a gate prize a new Superior Whippet Sedan. Liberty Fire Company festival on July 27 adds Peerless Entertainer lineup.

Kepler Lodge the Lancaster Y M C A summer home at Martic Forge and Camp Chiquetan on the Susquehanna opposite Pequea are active with city and county youths. The improved Lancaster Martic Forge road makes visits easier and Sam's Motor Boat helps cross the river. Visiting days are Thursdays and Sundays at Kepler Lodge and Sundays at Camp Chiquetan from 3:00 to 8:00 p.m.
The United Brethren Sunday School class held a surprise party for treasurer Miss Hattie Diller at her home on Saturday evening. She received a scarf and other gifts asRefreshments were served. Attending were Susie Meyers Ida Richwine Edith Richwine Laury Rutter Ida Ayers David Gockley Annie S Bear Annie M Bear Rev F C Aungst Clayton Bair Frank Riley Oliver Diffenbaugh Wink and Harry L Stauffer.
Mr. and Mrs. Irwin R. Weaver of North Roberts avenue and Mr. and Mrs. Uriah Fatzinger of Kingston Pa. completed a 1200 mile automobile tour visiting Valley Forge Dupont Gardens Halloway Beach Van Bibber Luray Caverns Natural Bridge White Sulphur Springs Clarksburg Charlestown Deep Creek Lake Gettysburg and Washington D C along with stays in the Blue Ridge Mountains at the Panorama Hotel three thousand feet up. The trip covered Pennsylvania Maryland Virginia and West Virginia with Mrs. Weaver born in Charlestown West Virginia.
Local society notes list guests and visits across Pennsylvania towns. Alice Gehman stays in Ephrata with parents. extended families and friends travel among Lititz Blue Ball Hershey Norristown Reading Kittanning and Lancaster for weekends and holidays.
