Citizens met at Firemen's Hall to plan an Old Home Week to be held likely in May 1914 after delaying the initial 1913 date. A permanent organization was formed with Rev S. M. Mountz as president and Geo S Townsley as secretary, with committees on finance advertising and more.
The Conestoga wagon beloved in the Perry celebration arrives back in its North Queen street stable after a 700 to 800 mile journey. Harry Immel led the wagon and four gray horses from George Neff and eight from the DuPonts on the escort train via Wilmington and Erie. The wagon bears many riders’ names in pencil as it resumes everyday ownership in excellent condition.
Herman Shirk, five, son of Mr and Mrs Samuel Shirk, sustained a painful injury after a hayfield incident. Placed on a horse by his uncle Abram Shirk, the horse bolted, throwing him and rolling over his back. No bones broken. he is recovering at home with a physician's care.
The Knights of Malta Band from Ster county will present a grand open air concert on Saturday evening July 26 on the balcony of the Styer House. W. High proprietor announces a program featuring the county's finest musicians. Admission is free for all attendees.
John D. Bowers opens a large three story furniture store on Railroad Avenue with a two story workshop connected. The store showcases bedroom parlor suites dining room and kitchen furnishings and offers 25 percent off porch rockers as the season ends. Bowers has 50 years in the business and invites all to visit today.
John M Weaver and wife of Hinkletown along with Jacob Weaver and wife of Martindale completed a May 8 trip to Altoona Bedford County Ohio Indiana Michigan and Canada returning Thursday They report a pleasant visit with relatives and that all acquaintances are well In Waterloo Ontario Mrs Joseph Martin died of heart trouble July 18 aged 81 years 2 months and 3 days Reva Pda Martin and Tobias Martin officiated
The flying horses attraction has opened in the rear of the Enterprise Telephone Company's Building for several weeks. The venue is crowded nightly with visitors from the borough and surrounding area.
New Holland, on last Saturday, faced Blainheim but thunder forced the game to end in the second inning with no score. Next, New Holland travels to Ephrata for a clash with the borough team, a rivalry that draws many local supporters. A return by Ephrata is set for July 26 here. This afternoon the Y M C A team meets Lititz II on the home diamond. admission is 15 cents with grand stand free, first pitch 3 30.
Rev. J Stewart Hartman superintendent of the Hoffman Orphanage near Littlestown Pa will celebrate the 25th anniversary of his ordination by preaching at Zeltenreich at 10 am and at St Stephen at 6 30 pm tomorrow He became pastor of New Holland charge in July 1888 and left in October 1891 He also served congregations in Harrisburg Silver Run Md and Woodstock Va He inaugurated the Hoffman Orphanage in 1910 and has been prominent there Attendees are invited to both services in Zeltenreich and St Stephen Church of this borough on the festive occasion

John D. Bair announces a large July sale at Blue Ball barns featuring MWindy and Kansas horses, 75 acclimated horses, 25 consignments, Missouri mules, two carloads Kentucky cows, and stock cattle. A bigger mid summer sale is expected in August.
On Thursday afternoon the Chauntoy office staff enjoyed an excellent watermelon donated by J C Doerr a popular local restaurateur from this borough. The fruit was praised as one of the best tasted and the staff extend their thanks for the treat.

The Pennsylvania Railroad will run a special through train from New Holland to Atlantic City on July 27 and August 24, 1913. The train departs New Holland at 5:34 p m and returns from Atlantic City at 7:02 p m. Zeltenreich Reformed Sunday School invites everyone to its annual picnic on Saturday August 9 at Rocky Springs Park. All are cordially invited to attend this community event.
This week A B Groff purchased the John H Sensenig property on East Main Street previously used as a jewelry store. Groff intends to erect a wooden dwelling on the site.
Health authorities found B Coli in two of three wells on John Musselman’s Leacock Township premises near Flickingers mill. Samples sent to Philadelphia labs confirmed contamination and a lime treatment was ordered. Six typhoid cases occurred in the family, with a recent death at General Hospital.
