Obituary of George S. Royer longtime Ephrata druggist
George S. Royer eighty three died at his East Main Street home at 6 p m Tuesday. He built a Ephrata drug store in 1879 and served as borough treasurer when Ephrata was formed. He was a director of the Bowman Cemetery and Ephrata Building and Loan associations and a National Association of Retail Druggists member. Over 125 people attended the East Penn Gas Company sponsored cooking school in the schoolhouse last night. Mrs. Katherine Tarbell demonstrated gas cooking while Albert Lee of Illinois lectured on refrigeration. Twenty door prizes were given including cake containers chromium bread trays mixing bowls and aluminum water pitchers. The series will continue for two more Thursday evenings from 7 30 to 9 30 p m.
