A Child Welfare Exhibit will tour Lancaster county during July and August to raise awareness of infant mortality. Lancaster Child Fatally Burned In Fourth Of July Fire
A ten year old girl, Margaret Elizabeth, was badly burned when sparklers ignited her clothing on North Duke Street in Lancaster. Neighbors and bystanders aided in efforts to extinguish the flames using a rug and a coat. She died Friday morning at General Hospital after serious injuries. Several rescuers were severely burned.

Fisherman Peter S Graybill dies at Shreiner crossing
Peter S Graybill of Fruitville Pike near Lancaster was struck and killed by an east bound passenger train at Shreiner's crossing near Dillerville last Wednesday evening. His wagon was hit after he appeared confused by the whistle blow. his skull was crushed and his body mangled. About a month earlier a Reading train killed four year old Martin Stehman at the same crossing.

Ordination Service Planned for Ephrata Mennonite Church
