LaMar Ranch Yoder age three, died at Lancaster General Hospital from acute appendicitis. He was the son of Robert C. and Esther M. Yoder of 284 West Main Street. Survived by grandparents George E. Ranch and Clara C. Ranch of Reading and grandmother Mrs. Priscilla Yoder. Funeral Monday at 10:16 a.m. from parental home and 10:30 a.m. at New Holland Reformed Church. Boy Scout Night Ends With Boxing and Overnight Hike
Twenty one scouts gathered at the south cabin for a big summer meeting. Ezra Ranch led the business session appointing Hen Swope as Lion Patrol leader with Paul Bensinger as assistant. After cleanup, plans for an overnight hike Thursday to Friday were discussed. Roy Dunn passed Tenderfoot tests, boxing bouts followed with Johnny Sensenig as referee, Bob Warner scoring two knockdowns of Dick Jacobs. The prize went to Sensenig for near ear damage, and several scouts stayed overnight for the first night out. Billy Storb reports.
