In Brecknock township near Red Run community members revitalize Martin’s graveyard dating from 1850. Trustees Samuel Ludwig Daniel Lied and Henry Burkhart oversee construction of a small worship house seating about three hundred. An all day service is planned for Sunday July 28 with speakers hoped for. Located on a public road from Eberley’s to Red Run schoolhouse near Wenger’s ice house.

A Well Preserved Man
Harry B. Weaver, 82, a well known retired farmer from Weaverland, remains active. He drove horses for seventeen acres of tobacco planting and maintained straight rows, showing mastery of his longtime work. He also performed all haymaking raking on the farm now run by his son Frank.

Tragic Farm Accident Claims William Graham Aged Sixteen
On Friday last in Manor township at Benjamin Witmer farm a sixteen year old named William Graham was killed when horses ran away. He leaped from a wagon to stop the horses but was crushed under heavy wheels and died within minutes. His parents are deceased and he is survived by three sisters. The funeral occurred Sunday at his uncle's home.

Raymond’s final show ends season as fall plans set
Last Saturday Raymond the moving picture man presented his final show for the season. He will be away over the summer due to heat and rural attractions. He will reopen with Hess Hall for fall and winter on September 28 with a new selection. Charles Killian of Fetterville visited New Holland then Brownstown and renewed his long subscription. He is eighty four, in good health except for his lower limbs. Forty seven years ago he moved from near New Holland to Fetterville. After fifty eight years of marriage his wife died in February 1911.

Educator Dr Edward Brooks Dies in Philadelphia Home
Dr Edward Brooks died at his Overbrook home in Philadelphia. A noted educator and author, he became mathematics professor at Millersville State Normal School in 1895 and served seventeen years as principal starting in 1886. He was superintendent of Philadelphia schools from 1891 to 1906.
