Picnic Scheduled for Tuesday by Sunday Schools
The Sunday Schools of the store plan a Rocky Springs picnic next Tuesday with tickets sold at Wright's bakery Stauffer's drug store Diller's store and the Cash store. Tickets cost 40 and 25 cents and allow stopovers in Lancaster both directions. Special cars depart at 7 30 and 8 30 with additional basket and regular services.

The W C T U met Tuesday evening at Mrs Clarissa Esbenshades home with six members present. De votions were given by the president. Roll call and minutes from last meeting were approved. Farewell Sermon for Rev G Arthur Fry of Maytown
Rev G Arthur Fry pastor of St John s Lutheran Church Maytown delivered a farewell sermon to a large crowd as other local churches closed in his honor. He and his wife depart for Pittsburgh where he has accepted a call. During four years in Maytown the church was remodeled the congregation grew and new work was begun. Mrs Fry is a daughter of local townsman Israel Bair and wife.

Dwelling House Destroyed by Fire Near Gordonville
Fire of unknown origin completely destroyed the Miller family home north of Gordonville while the family was away Friday. The five story frame house and contents, valued in the thousands and partly insured, burned with only clothing worn by Mr and Mrs Miller and their daughter saved at La Park.

Fire TotallY Destroys Levan's Flour Mill In Lancaster
A Saturday night blaze destroyed Levan's Flour Mill, the county's largest, along the New Danville turnpike near Lancaster. The four story brick building with a two story frame wing burned after 7 pm. neighbors fought the flames, saved nearby structures, and by 1 am the fire was controlled though walls later collapsed. The mill, built in 1870, produced Levan's Best and Levan's Choice flour and faced extensive stock and machine losses with insured coverage and plans to rebuild once settled.

Starting Tuesday ordinary stamps including commemoratives become valid for parcel post insurance and COD. New insurance options allow up to 25 for five cents and up to 50 for ten cents. From July 1 COD service runs up to 100 with ten cent fee, and parcels may be insured to 50. Money order offices handle COD. postage must be prepaid and collected funds returned by money order.

Walter Mo Franklin of Lancaster died after a fall from a tram near Satterlee while en route to Allentown.
