Fire devastates Ludwick home in Honey Brook
A fire of unknown origin gutted the two and a half story Ludwick residence on Main Swett in Honey Brook center at 9 30 Tuesday. Real estate and insurance agent Thomas H Ludwick and his wife Els saved three young children as neighbors and fire crews from Honey Brook and Churchtown battled the blaze causing about 5000 dollars in damage.

Obituary of Civil War veteran Andrew F. Shrom of Blue Ball
Andrew F. Shrom 86 Civil War veteran of Blue Ball died at home Saturday morning after four weeks illness. He served three years in the Civil War and belonged to G A R Post 84 Lancaster. He was a member of St Stephen Reform Church Blue Ball. Survived by two sons David G Center Church and Edgar W Ephrata, daughters Annie Fritz Reading and Lillian Lesher Reams Town, plus 21 grandchildren and 11 great grandchildren, sister Susan Shram Blue Ball, half brother Avram Skramusky Lancaster. Services were held Tuesday 11 AM at St Stephen Reform Church and interment in Groffdale Cemetery.

Burning Tractor Threatens Farm Shed Fire
A tractor caught fire while being operated in a tobacco shed at Eli Landis farm near Farmersville on Wednesday noon. The Liberty Fire Company with Bareville and Legfa Fire Companies fought the blaze using chemicals and prevented major damage to the large shed.
