Claude R Stauffer chairs the Lancaster campaign for the 1948 American Red Cross Fund Campaign. County committees will be announced within the next week as the drive seeks 96400 in Lancaster city during March.
The thirty eighth anniversary of the Boy Scouts of America will be observed in Lancaster County by Finishing the Job Camp Chicquetal. Volunteers aim to raise 8000 from local Scout-Troop No. 48 supporters with help from Clyde Brackin Aston Irvin Diffenderfer and others. New Holland area quota is 1716.26 dollars.
Rev. Clifford Esterline of Intercourse and Mt Tabor churches was treated at Lancaster General Hospital after losing control of his car and striking a tree. He was en route to a prayer service at Lloyd Laukhoff’s home near Ream’s Woods on the Intercourse New Holland road. the car suffered extensive damage.
Seven commercial students from New Holland High School will take afternoon temporary positions in local businesses for six weeks. The program provides practical experience and helps students apply classroom contacts to real business life.

Mr and Mrs Victor Q Kling announce the engagement of their daughter Patricia Anne to Robert C Burnley son of Mr and Mrs M C Burnley Penn Wynne. Miss Kling graduated from East Lampeter High School and Drexel Institute of Technology. Mr Burnley is a Drexel graduate and Army veteran employed by Hajoca Corporation Philadelphia.
Mrs Emma Newswanger of East Earl R1 announces engagement of her daughter Rheta E Newswanger of Bareville to John Smoker of Gap R1 son of Mr and Mrs Reuben Smoker. Rheta employed by Bareville Garment Company and John employed at Sprechers Garage Lebanon no wedding date set.

Private funeral will be held Saturday at 1 30 PM at the home with church services at Ephrata Mennonite Church at 2 PM. Interment Weaverland Cemetery. Friends may call Friday 7 to 9 PM.
Mrs Annie C Kilhefner eighty eight widow of John Kilhefner of New Holland route 2 died at 4 30 am last Thursday at her home after a brief illness. Longtime toll gate keeper east of New Holland charter member of Trinity Evangelical Congregational Church Terre Hill. Survived by a foster son Harry Muckle at home and a niece. Services held Esbenshade Funeral Home borough Sunday at two. Interment Rancks United Brethren Cemetery.
Miss Bessie Helms seventy two of Honey Brook died at 8 20 p m Sunday in St Josephs Hospital after an illness of four weeks. She was the daughter of the late Edwin and Mary Annet Helms and a member of the Honey Brook Methodist Church. Surviving are brothers and a sister Frank Helms Suplee Chester county Charles Harry and Rachael Helms all of Honey Brook Reese Helms Honey Brook R D and Clarence Helms West Chester.
Funeral services were held from the Hitnier and Hoffman chapel for Mrs Mary L Lutz. The ceremony included remarks and prayers as family and friends gathered to honor her life.

Miss Lois W Snader daughter of Mr and Mrs Daniel W Snader Lititz became the bride of Lloyd A Eaby son of Mr and Mrs Grant Eaby East Earl in a 2 pm Saturday ceremony at Bridgeville Evangelical Congregational Church. Rev Ralph K Todd officiated the double ring service. The bride wore a pink suit with brown accessories and an orchid corsage. The couple left for a Florida wedding trip and will reside in Blue Ball.
Mrs Homer K Nelson announces the marriage of daughter Evelyn Irene to Robert Tuttile of Denver Colorado and formerly Lyndon New Jersey. The ceremony took place Saturday January 17 at St Martin's Chapel Cathedral of St Johns in the Wilderness Denver. Attendants were the bride and groom.
