Burkholder a longtime Lititz resident died at his home after extended illness. He worked as a cigar maker and in various trades. Survived by daughter Mabel wife Shippen of Lancaster four grandchildren and brothers Samuel S. Burkholder of Jonestown Berks County and Adam of Ephrata and sister Mrs Kezich Artz of Lancaster. Funeral Thursday with services at home and Moravian church. Interment Moravian cemetery.

Large Barn Burned Near Muddy Creek Church
A Monday fire at Henry S. Lausch’s farm near Muddy Creek Church destroyed a large 45 by 90 foot barn and outbuildings, with 500 bushels oats 100 bushels wheat 600 bushels corn and all hay straw fodder and the tobacco crop burned. Live stock including three horses a pair of mules 12 cattle and 20 shoals were saved. Reamstown Fire Company fought the blaze but water ran out in five minutes. house saved by chemical engine. Insurance was insufficient to cover losses.

Drowning at Conestoga Creek Ice Break
Samuel S. Styer aged 17 of near Oregon was drowned when an ice cake broke under a group on Conestoga Creek near Bushong's Mill Sunday at 4 PM. His body was recovered Monday at 8 80 o'clock about 15 feet from the fall. Brothers John Styer and Earl Bissinger were rescued by neighbor John Eichelberger.
