The Young People's Society of the United Brethren church observes Christian Endeavor Week with a 10 15 a m service. Short talks and features mark the opening as the fifth of six services. The group recently presented The Book Goes Forth with Clarence J Nelson speaking. The next event is The Lamp Within Thy Hand pageant on Feb 5 at 7 30 p m closing the week. Obituary of Abraham L. Futer of Broad Street Borough
Abraham L. Futer, 67, of 145 Broad Street, died Wednesday at his home after a three day illness of paralysis. He was born in Millwood, grandson of the late Stephen and Martha Eshelman Futer, and a longtime road supervisor. He leaves wife Mary Ella (née Jackson), son Arthur, granddaughter Ann Artha, and siblings Sarah Spiece, Thomas Wise, Jacob E. Futer, Franklin B., Amanda Mentzer, Omar Futer, and John Futer. Miss Bessie L Foreman of Churchtown died Wednesday morning after about three weeks illness from pneumonia at her home.
