S. Bauman thirty one of Hahnstown was killed on Route 5 near Bergstrasse church east of Ephrata at 11:10 p m Sunday when his buggy was struck from the rear by a car driven by L W Sweigart of Ephrata. The Martins and Bauman had left Eli Stauffer's home earlier. Bauman died at Dr I G Wagner’s office Ephrata. Police ruled no lights on Bauman’s buggy. Burial at Pike Mennonite church near Hinkletown after services at the Bauman home.

Mother of 12 Bear a Son Dies of Pneumonia
Mrs. Sarah Connor thirty five of Ephrata died in St Josephs hospital from lobar pneumonia. She gave birth to a six pound son at the hospital after being admitted January 18. The Bainbridge two and a half story ten room brick school building was destroyed by fire at seven o clock Wednesday morning. Defective wiring is listed as the cause.
