The Clarion Printing House offers year one for 81.00 with annual payment due. six months cost 60 cents and three months 25 cents in advance. If no discontinuance is received, the paper will continue. Five new subscribers for one year earn the paper for the promoter.

A blaze at the Styer House caused smoke and flames to engulf the attic and roof parts. Firefighters and volunteers rushed to save the building, with water carried by bucket brigades and a careful attack that confined the fire after more than an hour. The hotel suffered extensive roof and attic damage, but most furniture was saved. insurance covered most losses. Nearby observers and officials aided, while a Philadelphia worker suffered serious injuries at Jersey City roundhouse.
