Johnny Kurtz's Hunt Opens Fox Season in Lancaster County
Friday afternoon at Mintage the hunt began with John Kurtz, proprietor of the hotel there, giving the start. Several hundred spectators witnessed the regnard as 75 hounds and 150 riders pursued the quarry for over ten miles before the Reynard escaped near Georgetown.

Aphthous Fever Patients Recovering In Abram Area
Three Abram area girls from Boose near Christiana who contracted aphthous fever by drinking milk from diseased cows have fully recovered and are now able to be about. The family faced informal shunning and was practically alone for about a month though not officially quarantined. The youngest, initially worst affected, was first to recover.
