Snowbound Fox Chase At New Holland House
The fox chase hosted by J. P. Rutter at the New Holland House drew sportsmen despite a snowbound city. An 8:30 p.m. party reached by special car after a blizzard, dinner was served, and the fox was finally dropped about 9 p.m. near the chase as it fled on the stormy night. A Morgantown party later captured the fox after it was driven into a barn by W. W. Kinzer and others.

David D. Styer died at Zion Home near Lititz after over three years as an inmate from tuberculosis. He was 78 years old and born in New Holland, son of the late John Styer, a hotel builder. He never married and lived in the area with Ephraim Hertzler before entering Zion Home. Funeral services were held at Trinity Lutheran Church with Rev. Mountz and Rev. Heitler, interment in Lutheran cemetery. Other notices include the death of Gertrude E Summers from diphtheria at age 6 years 1 month and 21 days and infant Henry Sensenig of Martindale who died of bowel trouble at 17 days, with services conducted by Rev. Menno Zimmerman.

Trucker and Club Banquet Highlight Town Week
M D Good sold shad at sixty cents each to customers this week. East End Outing Club held a banquet at Styer House with 32 guests. Waltman served turkey and seafood dishes. KE Burkholder was toastmaster. Attendees came from Akron Ephrata Brownstown Blue Ball New Holland and nearby areas. Sleigh ride brought two sleds of youths from Talmage with two boys and many girls. Sleighing was poor but guests enjoyed themselves.

Help Received After Cold Night at Hershey Farm
Amos H Hershey auctioneer of Red Well aided a stranger, Guy Wallace of Blue Ball, after a cold overnight mishap. Wallace arrived at three in the morning, found by Hershey who sheltered him, fed him, and sent him home after a warm breakfast as the thermometer hit zero.
