Mrs Robley Evans was appointed chairman for the New Holland borough March of Dimes committee for 1947 and the Infantile Paralysis Charity Birthday Ball. She has served in this role for several years. Christian C Rudy, general chairman for Lancaster city and county, said early reports from the New Holland district were gratifying and that the district was among the first to organize and start personal solicitations.

Levi Leaman of Paradise aged ten months shy of a full life, born in Manheim to Samuel and Suigny Leaman. Formerly employed by Clem E and John J Hooker in coal lumber and feed, he was a member of St John’s Evangelical United Brethren Church. Survived by wife Ida Hoover Leaman daughter Anita L Rudy two grandchildren sister Ida Groff and brother Bir Leaman. Funeral at Brown Funeral Home Paradise then at St John’s church with interment in the parish cemetery.
Mrs. Cora B. Paxson widow of James E. S. Paxson of 422 W James St Lancaster died at home Wednesday at 10 am after a long illness. Born in New Holland she was the daughter of Roland and Margaret Smoker Brubaker of New Holland and longtime Memorial Presbyterian Church organist and Sunday School teacher. She wrote letters to armed forces during the war with prayers acknowledged by chaplains in Europe and the Pacific. Survived by son Roland B Paxson of Houston and two grandchildren and two sisters Mrs Hallie Klemmer of Lancaster and Mrs Charles M Diller of New Holland. Funeral from Abram Snyder Funeral Home Monday at 10:80 am with interment in New Holland Cemetery. Friends may call Sunday 7 to 9 pm.

The series runs 9 30 to 10 a m for thirteen Fridays with sponsors B Z Mellinger New Holland Machine Company New Holland Planing Mill and Wright Bakery. Electric radio clocks will be awarded to New Holland residents honored on the broadcasts.
The Men's Bible Class of the Methodist Sunday School met last Tuesday at the church and decided to host a dinner for members at Beartown on February 4 at 7:00 p.m.
