Ages range from twenty to seventy nine. causes include tuberculosis and complications of disease. Funeral details reference Muddy Creek, Metzler’s Meeting House, Weaverland Church, and Zion Reformed Church with interments in local cemeteries.

An attack of typhoid fever in a local resident has improved with a return to work at the S. W. Hoover cigarmaking plant. Community members W. H. Ranck of Terre Hill and W. H. Martin visited, Mrs. Newton Sunder of Wayland, NY visited John W. Buch, and Alberta and Gwendolin Fry visited their sister in Terre Hill. C. G. Sensenig, the post office inspector, was in town this week. the Martindale mill will relocate to the Red Run mill soon, with Peter Sensenig to manage the Martindale mill.
P E Shirk and wife and Peter Martin and family spent Sunday with Clement Martin and family. Martin W Martin and bride and Mrs Lauder visited the former's parents at East Ham. Joseph Martin and wife called on Lydia Wenger and her sister. Mrs P E Warner visited with her parents at Red Run. Martin and wife visited their daughter Mrs George Weaver and family. Mrs Jacob Hurst spent several days with Wenger. Lawrence Shirk is slowly improving. Tobias Warner and wife spent Sat and Sun with daughter Mrs Daniel Oberholtzer and family at Limeville. Fair night noted. Mary Martin and daughters spent Saturday at Lancaster.
The High School will hold a literature meeting in the High School Room on Friday January 28 at 1 o'clock.
The Lancaster County Agricultural Fair Association held its annual meeting on Monday afternoon. Directors were reelected except E W Garber, who was succeeded by Dr A B Metzger of Milleraville.
The United Brethren Sunday school reports 1913 as a successful year with 291 scholars enrolled, 25 new adds, 18 added to the church from the school, and 168 visitors. Officers elected include Superintendent W. W. Stauffer and organizers Anna Wright and Hattie Diller. Installations set for Jan 18 along with Endeavor officers. Special evangelistic meetings draw large crowds. no converts yet but prospects look hopeful.
Terre Hill P O S of A presented the drama "By the Enemy's Hand" in Hess Hall with several performances drawing large crowds. Reserved seats were sold at Diller's Hardware Store and a big turnout was anticipated for the Blue Ball Fire Co fair with music, amusements, and a fair restaurant supporting a worthy cause.
County newspaper publishers gathered at Hotel Wheatland in Lancaster on Monday to elect officers for the coming year. President Silas E. Bard of the Denver Press and vice president W. O. Cake of the Terre Hill Times led the slate with secretary treasurer Howard Reynolds of the Quarryville Sun. An executive committee included John G. Zook of the Lititz Express and C. R. Martin of the New Holland Clarion, with H. C. Carpenter of the Lancaster Intelligencer. Auditors named by the president were W. Cake H. C. Bucher and John G. Homsher of the Strasburg News. A banquet followed.
H E K Storb Overland Automobile agent reports selling two 1014 fully equipped touring cars to W C Mohn and Rev H L Yeakel of Adamstown. He says spring delivery prospects are better than ever and advises orders now as demand may exceed output delaying deliveries.
On Tuesday January 20 the Candee Incubator agent will demonstrate the machine at 240 Railroad avenue New Holland. Interested persons may see the mammoth incubator and obtain particulars by contacting the listed agent in Holisnd, Pa.
The major city and county banks held annual stockholders meetings Tuesday to elect directors for 1914. Names listed include leaders from People’s National Lancaster Browstown National and others with multiple boards across regional banks and street railway companies.
The pony named Dewey, owned by E. M. Rutter of this borough, was found dead in his stable after several days of illness. Purchased by the late Amos Rutter in Philadelphia, the nineteen-year-old dwarf pony was a neighborhood favorite among the children.
Revival meetings at the Groffdale Mennonite Church near New Holland will conclude Sunday evening with large attendance and many conversions. As a result there will be no services in New Holland tomorrow evening.
Lester Worst of Salisbury and White Horse High has left bed rest after five weeks with typhoid fever. Attending physician Dr. Mylin of Intercourse reports the student is convalescing and will soon be about again.

Names include H F Seber in Philadelphia and Chester, Mrs Horace Brown at a Reading funeral, Samuel Sander from Coatesville, Miss Alice Patton with Miss Florence Wilson, and several families from Reamstown Intercourse and nearby towns. Also mentions Miss Alta Diller visiting Allentown and others at Philadelphia auto show.
The 78th quarterly meeting for the Mennonite Sunday School Mission is set in Lancaster on Wednesday January 21. Morning sessions feature devotion, sermons by Bishop Abram B Herr and others, then addresses on church themes. Afternoon includes more talks and a Christian fidelity address. Evening hosts a workers meeting and sermon with a full program.
John Drake, Brash Valley weather prophet, predicts January will begin with heavy snow then brief cold after January 12. February will be very cold all month. March starts cold but spring arrives earlier than usual, letting farmers plow in late March.
Last Saturday B F Alderfer, a clerk at Eli Hess store, lost a portion of the first finger on his right hand when an electric coffee grinder was started while he was cleaning it. Dr Hoffman dressed the wound and Alderfer expected to be off duty about a week as he recovers from the painful injury.
J C Henninger has moved into a residence one door west of his business. The home, previously occupied by his mother Mrs Sarah Henninger, is described as a fine residence. The Henninger family will answer calls from the new residence going forward.

Mrs. B J Hillegas wife of Salem Reformed Church pastor died from a skull fracture after being struck by an auto near her home Tuesday night in the presence of Miss Mary Baby and Miss Elizabeth Gerhard. Drivers Walter Groff and Jacob Hacker of Ephrata say headlights blinded them. Miss Baby injured, Miss Gerhard unhurt. Funeral Monday at 1 30 at Heller's Church with J C Henninger in charge.
The Intercourse bank elected its old board on Tuesday with Willis B. Knox as president and John L. Seaman as vice president. Two shares of bank stock sold publicly for 129.50 each, Ring the buyer. Revival ongoing at the U B church and a Fraternal Patriots class to begin next Wednesday. Prices for tobacco offered at 0 1/2 cents locally. Protracted meetings continue at Bridgeville and a stillborn daughter was interred in Goodville Cemetery last Monday.
William C Steffy lost a valuable steer Blaine Shirk also lost a valuable heifer. The plasters are working at John M Sanders new house. Harry Killian trapped trader lost days due to a death in the family. Geo Hoffman ill with age 85. Mr and Mrs A O Singer attended the Blue Ball Fire Co fair. Fox hunters attended Alderfer fox hunt at Churchtown. Warref Witmer horse kicked last Friday. He teaches Centar School and keeps his horse in Daniels Goca s bam. One of Goods horses got loose and did the kicking.

The Boro High Alumni Association met on Saturday January 10 in the high school room. Officers elected include President W Allan Hammond Vice President Wilford G Stauffer Secretary Esther Henninger Treasurer Mahlon Weber Historian David Weber Receiver of Class John Myers. A committee led by Anna Wright Elsie Fenninger and Wilford Stauffer will arrange the spring Hess Hall drama. Treasury shows 23.39.
A series of meetings will be held at Chestnut Street Brennonite. The Church Law welcomes all residents and invites people to attend and bring friends. Meetings begin January 20.
