Conestoga Post No 662 of the American Legion was among five of thirteen county posts that surpassed their membership goals in the drive brought to a close Friday. A total of 1363 persons enrolled across the thirteen posts.

Mrs Laura M Shirk widow of Ellsworth Shirk died at her Churchtown home Saturday evening at 10 o clock after a five day illness of pneumonia. She leaves son Smith Shirk of Churchtown daughter Evy A Shirk two sisters and three brothers. A member of Churchtown M E Church, services were held at the home Wednesday at 2 PM with burial in Camarvor cemetery.

Lions Club Plans Annual Minstrel Show
