Mr and Mrs Nelms of Honey Brook are guests of their niece Mrs Isaac Weaver and family. Numerous relatives and friends travel to town for Sundays in town visiting with residents and attending local church events.
The W C T U gathered at president Mrs Anna H Roland's home for a "meeting for mother" with readings on fatherhood sympathy and tactful motherhood. Principal business covered Varney Welfare Week planning and the next meeting is set for January 25 at 6:43.
New Holland Athletic Association to hold its first 1916 meeting Monday January 17 at 8 PM in the Fire Company Hall above Diller's Hardware Store. Plans include electing officers and a manager, securing last season's players, and preparing for a fair and the coming year.
The Varneys, noted Chautauqua lecturers, will lead four days of welfare lectures under the W C T U in the M E church next week. A mass meeting on Sunday closes the program with devotions and address by Rev. George Buzz. Reserved seats for men.

Joseph E Prank of Blue Ball and Florenest Kurtz of Terre Hill daughter of Mr and Mrs Winfield Scott Kurtz united in Reading by Rev W E Daugherty. The newlyweds spent several days in Reading with relatives.
Alta Hershey of Philadelphia visits her mother Mrs E H Hershey in Gordonville. Earl Armstrong of Berwyn guests with Mr and Mrs John Weaver. Byers Steffy spends Sunday with Lancaster friends. Adam Hershey of Coatesville visits Benj M Hershey family. Mrs John Gumpf of Lancaster visits Lydia Sullenberger. Lydé Mumma and wife of Paradise visit M Groff Miss Eliza Quigley of Soudersburg visits with Mrs John Weaver on the sick list. Amos Hershey and wife visit Jacob Leaman and wife.
Election day results from about forty local banks and trust companies are listed. New Holland National and Farmers National New Holland lead with multiple directors, followed by Terre Hill National Intercourse National and Brownstown National with their respective boards.
A barn belonging to Charles M. Harple at P Bareville burned last Monday evening around seven. Firefighters from Bareville and Mechanicsburg saved nearby homes, with the squire's house and Jacob Good's also spared. Loss exceeds $1500 with partial coverage by Continental and Lititz Mutual. cause unknown. The barn contained six tons hay, two tons straw, tobacco, wagon, and a tool chest. automobile survived. The house sustained scorch damage but remained standing.
A farmer near Reiderbach's Store shows a rare triple leaf tobacco plant. Isaac Weaver grew three leaves from a single midrib at Isaac Martins farm in spring. Leaves measure 24, 95, and 27 inches, a first seen by observers.
On Sunday Mr. and Mrs. Levi W. Brown entertained at their East Main Street home with a bountiful turkey dinner. Guests included Mr. and Mrs. George E. Dank of Columbus, Miss Elsie I. Dosrr, Mr. and Mrs. Addison W. Warner and family, Mrs. Callie Wallace, Miss Cornelia Barstler, and Addison M. Sheaffer.
Jos E. Frank of New Holland rural route 2 delivered a basket of Baldwin and other fine apples to the office last Saturday. The office force enjoyed the fruit and extended thanks to the generous donor.
