Lancaster Man Dies After Self Inflicted Injury
Henry Schopf of 615 West Freder ick Street Lancaster died of injuries from a self inflicted shooting two weeks earlier. He was 66, born in Germany, a Sacred Heart Catholic church member, survived by widow Emma Getz and children William Schopf Mary Rohm Edward and Harry, plus one grandchild. Private funeral at his wife’s home with requiem mass at Sacred Heart Church, private interment at St. Joseph’s New Cemetery.

Sly Bird Escapes From West Chester Jail
Outlaw Hen Green a 30 year old Welsh Mountain desperado escaped from West Chester jail while accompanied by trusted inmates. He bounded over a ten foot yard wall around 1000 hours after posing near a wash area. Authorities including Chester Lancaster constables and state police have pursued leads with no capture. A state trooper wounded by a cross field chase near Thorndale. The Welsh Mountain search continues with no results.

Series of Accidents at Lancaster End of Trolley Line
A deadly trolley line mishap at Stop No 5 near Bridgeport killed Mrs. Annie S. Neff and injured others including nurse Ella DeHaven.
