The St. Steph church in New Holland undergoes major restoration after a century of use. Work includes roof replacement, exterior repainting, interior frescoing, new pews and stained glass, plus ventilation and room additions. Total cost around 1900 dollars with detailed upgrades to the auditorium and surrounding rooms.
The event at St Stephen’s Church celebrated the Four Hundredth Anniversary of the Protestant Reformation with multiple speakers. Mrs Barbara Young widow of Peter Young died Sunday at eighty three native of Germany who lived in Lancaster county since childhood. The funeral was held Wednesday at her home near Rising Sun with services at 1 oclock. She had resided with her daughter Mrs Benjamin Shultz and son Peter Young in Rising Sun and later with Hersom, AeCatn Young.
