The Bird-in-Hand WCTU held its January 6 gathering at secretary Mrs. M Irene Morrin’s home. Reports covered December’s no meeting, 648 pages mailed to freight trainmen, 289 pages for January for RR stations, and 392 general plus 27 anti narcotics pages distributed. Brubaker noted school visits November 20 at East Lampeter High. The group discussed prize essay writing in secondary schools and press work with four newspapers carrying November meeting notices. Plans for a parlor meeting were made and a $1 donation authorized for National Temperance Society to support West Virginia prohibition efforts.

Henry F. Harry Hosts Fox Chase Amid Snowy Storm
Henry F. Harry of Talmage held his annual fox chase on Tuesday. A large crowd attended and a turkey dinner followed as a cold storm frozen ground made a long hunt difficult. The fox was caught alive after several miles. J. P. Rutter of the Sunflower Club led the way to the Sunflower kennels where the animal rests in recovery.
