New Holland Athletic Association Plans County Fair for Baseball Fund
The New Holland Athletic Association elected officers at the Fire Company hall and organized a four Saturday fair at Hess Hall starting the coming February to raise funds for the season's baseball club. Officers are President L. M. Stork Vice President J. P. Davis Secretary W. E. Davis Treasurer Wm. Gilfillan. A follow up meeting is set for next Tuesday at 8 pm to finalize arrangements and canvass for donations.

Death by Own Action at Neffsville Inmate Suicide
Aaron Whitcraft, inmate of the Brethren's Home at Neffsville, hanged himself in the barn loft of the institution. Last seen at ten AM, body found by Franklin Ober after a dinner absence. Deputy Coroner Dr. E H Witte r investigated. Whitcraft, a Rosaville trucker and United Zion Church member, left a melancholy note of trouble. Funeral held Thursday at 9:30 from the Home, burial at Millport.

William McGalliever of Ephrata sustained a fracture in his right leg when a heavy log rolled from a truck at Kinport saw mill last Thursday afternoon. A doctor on site advised hospital care and Dr Stahr treated him at General Hospital. He faces about six weeks of bed rest.

Fox chase at New Holland House draws many clubs
Last Friday J P Rutter hosted the seventh annual fox chase at the New Holland House with a turkey dinner for more than 100. Hunting clubs from Terrenill Ephrata Williamstown Mt Vernon and New Holland joined about 35 horsemen and 150 dogs. The fox was released at 4:30 by Jacob Groff and captured by Clyde Skiles before being freed again and caught by Philip Brubaker at John Musser’s farm.

Tragic Accident Injures Young Girl in Leola Garage
Last Saturday in Leola, ten year old Daniel Brubaker found a revolver in a desk and fired at his playmate Ethel Martin. The bullet entered her head, she collapsed, and was taken to Lancaster General Hospital. Her condition later showed signs of improvement and recovery was hoped. The incident drew sympathy from both families and neighbors.
