Mrs. Jonathan Stoltzfus died at home after complications at age in years. She was the daughter of Mr and Mrs John Strasburg and Mrs Sarah Stoltzfus. Interment followed at the cemetery near Ronks after services at the Amish Church in Wea r.
Robert J Cumins seventy four of Greenbank south of New Holland died Monday afternoon at 3 oclock of complications after lingering illness. Survived by wife Amanda Schnupp and children James C at home Hannah wife of Edwin Fisher Christian Cumins Lancaster and brothers Richard Nine Points and Clem Nickle Mines. Private funeral held Thursday 1 30 pm at P F Esbenshade New Holland with public service at 2 pm at Groffdale Mennonite church and burial nearby.
Mrs Elizabeth Brubacher wife of Jacob Brubacher of Farmersville died Sunday after visiting the Amos Horst family in near town. She was 72. Death was from apoplexy after morning church service and a visit. Surviving: husband and children Peter Brubacher Brutus Michigan Katie wife of Eli Bauman Canada Henry Selinsgrove Mary wife of Eli Stauffer Ephra ta Amos Waterloo Canada Barbara at home Isaac Chicago Til. Forty two grandchildren, three brothers Peter Christian Jonathan Martin Canada and sister Mrs Anna Bergert Canada. Funeral at the late home in Farmersville Thursday 12:30 pm and 2:00 pm Pike Mennonite church near Hinkletown. Burial in adjoining cemetery.
The winter term of the Thirteenth District Leadership Training School opened last Monday with an enrollment of 31, the largest since the program began. Participants include Lutherans and various churches in New Holland and Zelten.
Elmer Ensinger twenty seven of Ephrata dies after a head on crash between a Mohnton operated car driven by Elmer Unger and a taxi driven by Harry Dunkleberger. Ensinger suffered compound leg fractures and facial injuries. He is survived by his mother and several siblings. Funeral services set for Saturday at his home and Mellinger’s church.
The Volunteer Firemen and Lancaster Red Cross sponsored eight week first-aid course opening Monday with forty six registrations. Arm strong Linoleum Plant Hospital's Mr. Barlow instructs as books are distributed for next week's session.
The Lancaster County Tobacco Growers Association holds its regular monthly meeting on Monday January 13 1930 at 2 00 pm in the Farm Bureau Rooms Woolworth building Lancaster Pa Dr D E Haley from State College will discuss recent fertilizer discoveries for cigar filler tobacco The annual tobacco show accompanies the meeting with ribbons only no cash prizes Fourteen leaves tied with a leaf form an exhibit and one entry per class Entries go to the State Farm Show in Harrisburg.
The January Mothers Meeting will be in the Sunday School rooms at Trinity Lutheran Church this borough next Wednesday afternoon January 15. The theme is The Educational Value of Pets. An interesting program is being prepared and all mothers and friends of children are invited.

The Seventh Annual Lancaster County Corn Show will be held at the Hotel Brunswick in Lancaster on January 11. The event, tied to the Lancaster County Corn Club round up, is sponsored by the Lancaster Chamber of Commerce. Adults may enter any county grown corn with classes for single ears ten ears and thirty ears in yellow dent white dent.
Mr and Mrs Frank E Houser spent New Year Day with Mr and Mrs Harold Moyer and family in Bethlehem. Alvin Horning and children Mil dred and Melvin visited Mrs Anna Musser. Bishop Noah H Mack attended a family dinner with eighteen grandchildren. Numerous visits connect residents of Ephrata Reading Lancaster Honey Brook and Philadelphia including Elmer Martin, Ann Sweigart, and Beyer family. Bishop Mack teaches Bible school in Harrisonburg VA for six weeks.
Real estate firm Styer & Evans reports the sale of the Glen Grill Restaurant on East Main Street from A. W. Weiler to Frank B. Keiser. Keiser plans a delicatessen and green grocery, offering oysters in all styles, cigars, and sandwiches at the new location.
The regular quarterly communion of the Methodist Episcopal Church in this borough will be held on Sunday morning January 12 at 10:30.

Weaver Hagey of New Holland elected to membership in the National High School Orchestra meeting in Chicago March 23 to 27 to perform for the Music Supervisors National Conference. About 300 players nationwide compete for slots. Damrosch Hadley and Maddy to conduct.
After a five week lapse the New Holland Lions Club resumes with its first session of the year on Tuesday January 14 at 6 30 PM at the Legion Home. Members urged to attend to start the year right.
The Woman's Christian Temperance Union plans a January 16 observance at United Brethren in Christ Church in this borough. The event opens at 7 30 PM with devotions by Rev R L Winters, addresses by Rev C G Bachman and Rev F C Aungst, solos by Mrs Florence Smith and Wilson Bair, a paper by Mrs Pauline Wright, and a closing hymn and prayer. all are invited.
The Loyal Workers Circle of the Kings Daughters Society will meet next Tuesday evening January 14 in the Sunday School rooms of St Stephen Reformed Church. The program starts at 7:30 with Mrs Anna Diller leading the Bible study. Limbert of the Lancaster Red Cross will speak on the Red Cross work and Mrs Ellis H Metford will perform a vocal solo. All members are urged to attend.
Epiphany communion to be administered at Trinity Lutheran Church next Sunday morning. Public Confession will immediately precede the Office of the Holy Sacrament.

Clayton M. Burkholder, son of Elam N. Burkholder, and Lena N. Rutt, daughter of Harry Z. Rutt, were married at the bride’s parents’ home on January 2 by Bishop Joseph Hostetter. The couple plans to start housekeeping on the groom’s father’s farm near Oregon after a wedding dinner for 95 guests.
Four Reinholds youths traveled from Ephrata to home when their car struck a parked machine and a telephone pole, overturning on a hill. Two occupants died, Paul H. Ochs and Frank L. Kegerise, with Mahlon Keith and Arthur Garner sustaining minor injuries. Kegerise died at 9:45 p.m. and Ochs at 3:20 a.m. in Reading Hospital.
William Webster Ellsworth publisher author and lecturer will give an illustrated lecture Sunday evening at St Pauls Reformed Church Lancaster under Franklin and Marshall College Religion department. The talk covers the making of the English Bible and is free to the public. Ellsworth is a great grandson of Chief Justice Ellsworth and of Noah Webster.
A correction addresses an error in the election notice setup for the New Holland National Bank in this borough. The notice previously misprinted the meeting date and now clarifies the correct date for the meeting.
