Eby Rudy, proprietor of the Farmersville Hotel, hosted a fox hunt on Wednesday. Several sportsmen joined the pursuit as the fox circled Bareville and Mechanicsburg before being killed by the hounds near the drop site. CoA, Eby, and Charles A Baby of the Sunflower hunt announced the kill and claimed the trophy.
Dickerscheid of Reidentach faces a hearing before Squire Groff after a forged 25.50 check drawn on Farmers Bank failed to clear at New Holland Bank. The instrument bore S R Weaver’s name and involved H K E Rutter & Bros. The matter ended with an agreed settlement, though Weaver seeks case action.
The Republican executive committee of the borough posts notices for a primary election at the Styer House on Thursday January 21 from 4 to 7 p m to nominate a chief burgess tax collector judge of elections inspector two councilmen two school directors one auditor. A nominating meeting will be held there on Tuesday January 19 at 7 8 o'clock to present all candidate names and close nominations.
Joseph W. Stauffer of 24 West Main street has been housebound for nearly a month with a heavy cold. His home was quarantined last Sunday due to two children Albert and Josephine contracting scarlet fever. The illness is not serious and many friends extend sympathy.
The New Holland Gun Club met at the Styer House on Tuesday evening and elected President A S Fritz Secretary Eli Hess and Treasurer D R Keadig for the ensuing year. A special business meeting will be held on the second Tuesday evening of each month.
