The New Holland Alumni Association held its annual meeting in the high school room with officers elected: President L D Growner, Vice President W G Stauffer, Secretary Esther Henninger, Treasurer Helen Rutledge, Historian Charles Mentzer. A drama was planned for March and a banquet for the first Saturday after local commencement. Adam Martin and Harry Mowery praised the group as compared with others.

New Holland marks one of the greatest tobacco delivery days as A B Groff supplies purchases for the P Lorillard Company under C H Nolt. Morning arrivals began before daylight with teams lining Railroad Avenue to Main Street. By noon 285000 pounds moved through eight freight cars, yielding over 40000 dollars at an average of 17 cents per pound in a single day shipment to Lancaster. a record for a single firm.

Death by Asphyxiation at Imperial Hotel Lancaster
George Hess aged about thirty five was found dead by asphyxiation in his bedroom at the Imperial Hotel Lancaster on Saturday night. His registered home is Gum Tree Cheater county. Police, led by Chief Busbong, traced his father John Hess of Caernarvon township, who went to Lancaster, and the body was taken to the father's home for funeral Sunday.

Lewis H Hendrixson Jr son of Dr L B Hendrixson of this borough was coasting down a hill near Benjamin Hoover’s home when his sled hit a post. No bones were broken but he endured back and abdominal pain and his condition was not yet serious. He was recovering and hoped to improve.

Faithful Servant Called to His Eternal Reward
The Rev. George Samuel Butz DD pastor of the New Holland Reformed Church died December 28 after a long illness at Dr A V Walter's home in Brownstown. Born in Allentown in 1870 he served Prospectville Paxinos Littlestown before New Holland. He studied in Berlin Heidelberg and Muhlenberg and authored works including The Rise of the Modern Spirit in Europe. He was honored with a Doctor of Divinity from Muhlenberg and Marshall College and preached Thanksgiving Day prior to his illness.
