Reverend Richard C. Rengier Dies in Lancaster Home
The prominent Lutheran minister Reverend Richard C. Rengier died at his parents Albert and Rebecca Rengier home in Lancaster on New Year’s Day. He served as pastor of First Lutheran Church Butler Pennsylvania for two years and had preached in Trinity Church New Holland. He studied at Lancaster schools, Franklin and Marshall College, and the Lutheran Theological Seminary at St Airy. He was unmarried and the only child of his parents, deeply beloved by many friends.

Walter Richard Harnish infant son of Harry and Ida Harnish died aged 1 month 24 days on Sunday December 20. Funeral held Tuesday at 10 o clock with Rev Weibel at the house and Lutheran cemetery burial. Emil White of Monterey was the undertaker. Peter Weinhold returned home New Year’s Day from the General Hospital. Eli Smoker on the sick list but improving.

John D. Barr sold 3804 horses and mules on New Year day, the largest crowd ever at Barr stables. The sale ran from 11 a.m. until after dark, totaling 49564 50 dollars with prices from 5 to 360 and a top double team price of 685 dollars. The Best of All Party met at the home of Mr and Mrs B F Alderfer on Saturday evening. Fifteen guests attended and were served cake candy ice cream and more. The gathering closed with a promise to meet again in a year.
Egg dealer records year with 800 hens and poultry sales
Christ High, residing near Martindale, brought 4 046 dozen eggs to Eli Hess store in New Holland and received 974.93 in cash. He owned 800 laying hens and sold poultry during the year for 129.48.

Accident maims New Holland worker at jointer
Martin Killian of East Main street in the borough, an employee of the New Holland Machine Company, lost four fingers on his left hand while using a jointer around 2 30 in the afternoon. He was taken to Dr Wentz for treatment and sent home, with workers noting this is the third such injury on the same machine.
