Mary B Flickinger Jacobs dies December at her residence. Survived by one sister and other relatives. Funeral arrangements expected at Church services.
A local history project describes the Mennonite Church in the county from early gatherings to today. It outlines congregations, districts, officers, ministers, and archival material including court records and grave markers.
The sparkling musical comedy Oh Doctor will be presented by local talent January 9 and 10 1930 in the New Holland High School Auditorium under the Alumni Association and High School. Twelve town talents play leads with a chorus, presenting a tale of Gerrill a crook chasing a tonic formula and Eddens the chemist amid love and humor. Miss Mary Ve Wine directs from Tri angle Producing Co and Miss Florence B Bair provides musical accompaniment. Tickets are available from school children or by calling the School Building at 750.
Zeltenreich Reformed Church announces a mid winter Communion service next Sunday at 10 15 AM. Preparation service was held last Sunday afternoon. Zeltenreich Church School will elect officers for the year with nominations by the Executive Committee of the school.
New Holland announces the fifth term of its Leadership Training School to begin Monday evening January 6 at St Stephen Reformed Church. The program expands to multiple concurrent classes in Junior Young People and Adult Departments with specialization tracks and the standard diploma in Leadership Training.
New Holland announces the fourth series of Great Preachers union services to be held January 21 22 23 and 26 at 7 30 pm in cooperating churches. Rev J Hamilton Smith D D pastor of Divinity Reformed Church Pottsville opens the series with a Methodist service. Rev G D Batdorf D D FH D Bishop of the Hastings District United Brethren in Christ speaks Friday. Rev C M Jacobs D D President of the Philadelphia Seminary of the Lutheran Church closes Sunday. Thursday speaker to be announced later. The series strengthens church fellowship across Methodist Episcopal Trinity Lutheran St Stephen Reformed and United Brethren congregations.
Mrs. Sue W. Shirk hosted a Christmas Day turkey dinner with guests from Terre Hill Bowmansville Goodville Lancaster and nearby areas. Attendees included Mr and Mrs George Zell and family Dr and Mrs Curtis Hensel Miss Mabel Leib Burd Adams and others.

The initial meeting of an eleven‑firm East End first aid class will be held Monday evening January 6 at 7 30 in the High School Auditorium. The 15 hour course may be spread over several evenings and is free, leading to a nationally recognized diploma upon passing. No high school education is required.
