At the New Holland Reformed Church joint consistory meeting of December 27, 1914 the resignation of Rev. J. G. Noss from St. Stephen and Zeltenreich congregations was accepted. The resolutions praise his fifty years preaching and twenty years in this charge, express regret, pledge prayers, and call for publication in the New Holland Canton. Signed by M. C. Beckwalter, W. N. The U B Church held a Christmas morning service at six and a Christmas evening service. A collection of 13.40 was sent to Quincy Orphanage. December 27 elected Sunday School officers: superintendent W W Stanifer secretary Anna Ro Wright treasurer Hattie Diller organist Enna Seldumridge librarian Earl Martin. Union Evangelistic Services begin January 3 at United Brethren Church.
Mrs Henrietta Elmer of Gup received many packages on December 25 including aprons handkerchiefs hosiery cakes and candies along with numerous letters and postcards from friends in Gup Christiana Parkesburg Paradise New Holland Philadelphia West Chester Lancaster Coatesville Seaman Place Boston Kinzer Millers ville Ledger Georgetown Springville White Horsey Compass and other places. She thanks those who participated in the surprise.
On Wednesday around 4 30 PM contractor George Good of Goodville fell while walking near the Ratts cement works on Jackson Street. He broke both bones in his left leg. Dr J A Hoffman attended, and Dr J L Winters of Blue Ball helped set the bones. Good is resting comfortably but will be unable to move about for several weeks.
Forrest E Dager of Philadelphia will deliver his famous lecture Stung in the Blue Ball Fire Co. hall on Tuesday evening January 5 1015 at 7 30 under the auspices of Cedar Grove Presbyterian Sunday School Men's Bible Class. Admission 20 cents. reserved seats 80 cents. All welcome.

Driu A Hoffman buys the old Shank property on West Main Street from R H Wright on private terms. The parcel known as 85 is slated for conversion into a two dwelling residence in the near future.
A series of marriages announced in Lancaster area churches. I K Zartman of Reading wed Miss Sarah E Price near Honey Brook at Grace Lutheran Church with Rev Haupt officiating. Eshleman and Miss Edith N Miller wed at Trinity Lutheran Lancaster, planning to reside in West Lilypt er. Henry M Imhoff of Wooster and Cora V Breneman of Blue Ball married at Union Grove with plans to start housekeeping in Ohio. Florence R Evans wed Harry A Zell at the bride’s home on Christmas Day, awaiting residence nearby. Gerald Zell and Florence Evans known locally, with congratulations from friends and family. Gertrude E Klinger, teacher in Ephrata, married Matthew Eler of South Amboy NJ in Philadelphia. they will reside in South Amboy. The weddings are reported with brief details on attendees and future plans.
All Christians invited to week long meetings beginning January 3 at 7 PM in the United Brethren Church and January 10 in the Methodist Church. The event aims at community welfare, with a unified chorus led by evangelist Mr HH C Reedy. Choir recruitment and final plans urged.
The Knights of the Golden Eagle New Holland Castle No 157 elected officers for the ensuing term. Past chief Harvey Varns becomes past chief, with Robert Gilfillan as noble chief, Clayton R Bair as vice chief, Clifford B Towneley as venerable hermit, Barry L Yundt as high priest, Percy H Obaub as mister of records, George O Roland as clerk exchequer, Lewis X Storb as trustee, and R N Bowers as representative.
Walter Stager of Stager and Stager law office in Sterling Illinois called at our office this week and paid for a subscription to the Clarion for Lydia A Stager of Sterling. The visitor is a close friend of Hon W W Davis also of Sterling.
Christmas feast at the New Holland House served by JP Butter and wife to many guests. Patrons praise the hostess Mrs Rutter for an excellent feast. diners commend the dining experience and hospitality.
Elmer Witwer and Miss Harriet Lambert visited relatives in Reading during the holidays. Kathryn Coldren spent time in Ephrata. People attended entertainments in Churchtown Bridgeville and Terre Hill. Mt Culmen Church held a well attended Christmas service with festive decorations. Mrs John Sensenig passed away after a long illness on Christmas Eve. The church bids farewell with faith in her eternal gain and prayers for the bereaved.
The Luther League social will be held next Thursday evening at the home of Mr. and Mrs. R. S. Brubaker. An interesting program is being arranged and a pleasant meeting is anticipated. All members and friends are invited.
Salisbury High School Literary Society held its regular Wednesday meeting on December 23. The room was decorated festively and filled to capacity with friends and patrons as a Christmas themed program was presented.
A large calendar for Clarion subscribers is selling quickly. Each calendar features large figures and can be mailed to distant subscribers for 10 cents postage. one or two cent stamps also accepted.
The Rural Delivery Carriers Grover C. Lindsay Rufus C. Himes Harry W. Dunlap and John B Thomas of New Holland express their utmost thanks to their patrons who liberally remembered them on Christmas morning through the Clarion columns.

Jacob D. Rath of Terre Hill dies at 43 after a yearlong tuberculosis illness. He belonged to Poos of AL No 274 and the Knights of the Mystic Chain. Survived by wife Lara, two children, a brother Simpson, and sister Annie. Funeral at United Evangelical Church, Terre Hill Cemetery. Frank Seldombidge funeral director.
Wm. G. Schnupp and wife held a Christmas dinner honoring their daughter. Attendees included Mr. and Mrs. W. Gi. Seiverling, Mr. and Mrs. J. F. Schnupp and daughter Ruth, Mr. and Mrs. J. F. Harsh and children Lena and Lester, Luther Schuupp of Lancaster, Paul Schoupp of Reading, Mr. and Mrs. Howard Sehnupp and son Elmer of Ledger, Mr. and Mrs. Daniel W. Schonupp of Hatville, Mr. and Mrs. Jacob R. Hershey and daughter Thelma of Gap, and Miss Helen Evans of Intercourse.
Annual Blue Ball Fire Co fair opens Saturday evening January 9 and runs for two weeks in the hall. It will be open Wednesday and Saturday evenings with music and a Fire Co restaurant serving refreshments. The company invites everyone to attend each evening to support a good cause.
