The Clarion Printing House lists annual subscription at 81.00 with 81.25 after year end, six months 50 cents, three months 25 cents and advance payment required. Failure to notify discontinuance implies continuation. Five new cash subscribers for one year earns the Orston for a year.
Advertisements from New Holland Pa list A B Hassler J Kershner and F W Sensenich engraving services with sample cards and invitations. Local listings note a two and three story brick dwelling for rent on Main street and other notices including poultry prices and general real estate and personal property services.
A historic storefront proclaims a pledge to quality with a slogan Yours for quality. The ad asserts buyers seek the best in the city and that the stock offers choice coffees and teas along with a reliable pure selection across the entire line of goods.
A large audience in the M. E. church heard Mrs. Kima Preston of Kennett Square speak on temperance, urging united action by the W C T U and local families to curb liquor sales. The talk cited success in Greene and Washington counties and stressed school-based temperance education. A later note reported several Lancaster residents bitten by a hydrophobic fox terrier, which was examined in Philadelphia and killed after confirmation.
The item recalls a week of weather speculation about heavy snow that failed to materialize, noting earlier calls for a long severe storm ended abruptly after less than an inch of snow. It reflects on public mood and delayed caution as a stronger late storm loomed.

The 47 year old former head of Stelamian's hardware store and theatre department left a brief note in bed and collapsed from a cerebral hemorrhage. Coroner and jury confirmed the cause. Mr Eshleman was a longtime resident born in Rohrerstown, married to Ella Potts, and a member of St Paul Reformed Church.
County commissioners set a 500 dollar reward for the arrest and conviction of the person or persons who set fire to the almshouse barn on Thursday night of last week.
A railroad agent from Kansas testifies that chronic bronchitis improved after using Dr Pierce's Golden Medical Discovery. He notes that the remedy contains no narcotics or alcohol, stops coughing, heals lung tissue, and supports overall health. Also mentions Dr Pierce's Pleasant Pellets for digestion.
Jeannette T. Broomell, noted Philadelphia reader and impersonator, will give an entertainment in Greavitar School, Me. Mo. Watchinson, next Saturday evening. Proceeds fund library books. admission 20 cents, children under 12 ten cents.
Last week the Clarion reported S S W Showalter near Martindale found cattle with tuberculosis after slaughtering a heifer. Dr J M Ranek tested cattle. two of Showalter’s cows were condemned and killed, two of Mrs Showalter’s cows, and one owned by Henry M Louder near Weaverland. Post mortems confirmed tuberculosis in all. Changes at Lancaster Railroad Station include a larger waiting room with toilets and new offices and reallocation of old rooms for Express and baggage use.
Mrs Sarah Lincoln widow of Abraham Lincoln died at her White Hall home near Churchtown late Saturday morning at age eighty one. Her husband died the preceding Sunday night at eighty eight. She was daughter of the late David Jenkins of Carnarvon and lifelong resident of the township. A Presbyterian from early womanhood she was described as a charitable hospitable Christian woman.
A death notice records a funeral Wednesday and burial at Bangor Episcopal cemetery. Stauffer's Drug Store advertises spices and preserving materials alongside a church collection. The county auditors met Monday with G G Lindsay elected president and Thomas J Marsh as secretary. Andrew Noble of Christiana is the third member.
There will be a special meeting in the rooms of the branch on Wednesday evening February 28 for action on repairing the pool table. A full attendance of members is requested.
Rev Albert Steinhaeuser RS Bru baker and several Diller Ranck and Shirk family members attended the Lutheran Sunday school convention in Lancaster on Thursday. Others from Philadelphia Lebanon Media and Churchtown were mentioned visiting relatives, with local residents enjoying a snowy Sunday at home and trips to Honey Brook.
