Hershey Schoolboys Adopt Baby Buffalo as Zoo Mascot

A newborn buffalo calf at Hershey Park Zoo lost nursing after its mother’s milk dwindled. Veterinary help and farm staff moved the calf to Hershey Industrial School Farm No. 7, where boys feed him with a nipple bucket. Now six weeks later Buffy thrives and awaits rejoining his mother at the Zoo.

Leacock Youth Injured In Automobile Accident

William Bender Jr eighteen of Leacock and Harry Burkey seventeen of Lancaster were treated at St Joseph's Hospital after a Lincoln Highway crash east of Mountville. Police said the car skidded and struck a pole. Bender suffered a possible fractured shoulder.

Joint Meeting on Water System Improvement

Borough Council and the New Holland Borough Authority plan a joint meeting on Tuesday January 2 to discuss upgrading the water system and the erection of an importing dam.
