At Intercourse Pennsylvania the First National Bank of Intercourse presents a financial statement as of November 27 1908 showing loans and discounts bonds and reserve assets. The cashier Amos Hassler attests the figures as true to knowledge.

The Peck Williamson Company of Cincinnati promotes an Underfeed Furnace that claims to cut coal bills by one half to two thirds. I G Davis Sons showcases the device at East Main Street, inviting homeowners and contractors to inspect its claimed efficiency and fuel dividends backed by testimonial letters.
A Sunday morning blaze gutted the Weaver stocking factory on Locust street in Eph rata, threatening nearby buildings including a church. Firemen saved only a few bags of stock goods as water damage ruined machinery and finished items. the factory was insured and the loss is covered.
A public notice promises a reward to anyone who can find even one atom of opium chloral morphine cocaine ether or chloroform or their derivatives in Dr Miles Remedies purchased in open market. The ad defends the remedies as strengthening and invig orating the nervous system and cites testimonials from WM Crome Salt Lake City Utah and a nervous wreck case. Dr Miles Anti Pain Pills are sold with a guarantee from the druggist for a refunded money if the first package fails. 25 doses 25 cents. Never sold in bulk.
RETDENBACH reports Daniel Hoover son of Aaron Hoover spent summer in the west and returned Saturday evening looking hale and hearty. Carpenters work on porches and interior finishing for David Hoover. Aaron Good shows a bright face after a stork brought two girls Sunday night. Henry Reed hosted Adam Fibenshade and wife from Murrell Harry Hoffman of Beartown and John Reed with family of Centerville. Mrs Isaac Nott ill but improving John Warner still bed bound. Two farm laborers on the Denver trip last Saturday returned after a misconnected journey arriving Sunday morning. A turkey shooting match will be held at A S Kauffman’s Hotel Monterey Friday December 11.
