Additional barns near New Providence and White Oak Road suffered losses totaling 16,000 to 20,000 dollars, with flash floods disrupting Columbia and Ephrata and heavy rain in Millersville and Lititz Springs causing further crop and field damage.

Israel B Bowman 54 of Goodville died Saturday at home from a heart condition at 12 40 am. He was the son of the late Israel M and Lavina Musser Bowman and is survived by his wife Anna Newawanger and children Harvey Charles Cora Alice Edna all at home. Also surviving are sisters and brothers Benjamin Bareville Lydia Ann wife of Charles Duke of Lancaster Lizzie Goodville Katie wife of David Martin Stevens Red Bustle of Gooisville and Martin of Denver. Funeral services were held Tuesday at Weaverland church with interment in the adjoining cemetery.

Federal rent control extended to 38 industrial centers
The Office of Price Administration expanded federal rent control to 38 more industrial centers bringing the nationwide total under ceilings to 45 000. In Allentown Bethlehem Meadville Titusville areas and Hagerstown Maryland rents must revert to March 1 1942 levels where housing is tight and profiteering occurs. The OPA says rent reductions have been as high as the percent in some cases.
