Boy Scouts Entertained at Cabin Friday
Boy Scout Troop No. 1 of this borough held a ham and bean supper at the Scout Cabin on Friday evening. Seven scouts who just returned from a two week stay at Camp Chiquetan gave short talks. Obituary of Anna M. Wanner at South Hermitage home
Anna M. Wanner died at noon Wednesday at her sister Mrs David Kurtz home in South Hermitage from complications of diseases. She is survived by two sisters and a brother including Mrs Kurtz of whom she resided John I. Warner of Honey Brook and Mrs D W Geist of Blue Ball. Funeral services are set for Saturday at 1 30 pm at her sister home and 2 pm at Pequea Presbyterian church with burial in the adjoining cemetery.

Harvest Excursion From New Holland To Atlantic City
The fourth annual Harvest Excursion on August 10 traveled from New Holland to Atlantic City for $2.50 round trip. A train of ten coaches carried about three hundred passengers, starting at four AM with the New Holland band, collecting more riders at stations along the line. They returned to the local station at 10:30 PM, tired yet satisfied with the day.

Hinkletown Boy Narrowly Escapes Strangulation
A four year old, Aaron Horst Jr., swallowed a coin near Hinkletown and coughed after the coin reversed in his esophagus. His father rushed him to an Ephrata physician who sent him to Harbaugh Hospital in Philadelphia where doctors removed the coin with a bronchoscope and he has fully recovered.

Earl Township Schools Set to Open August 31
The 1931 32 term will start Monday August 31 with compulsory attendance from day one. Thirty percent of the term cannot be granted by boards. Permits allowed for children fourteen or older who have completed sixth grade, applied for by term start.
