Children Raise Funds For Hospital Aid And Welfare
Children at St. Joseph's Hospital organized a sale of fancy work and novelties to aid fellow youngsters. A large crowd attended, buying items in support of the effort while volunteers including Jane Eshleman and Lillian Ghersky helped run booths. Fire destroys barn at Lititz farm injures animals
Neal Lititz family reported a blaze at a farm barn discovered by the farmer’s son who raised the alarm. The Lititz Tire Company hurried to assist and the father, aided by neighbors, saved livestock but most farming implements burned. Rothsville and Morris Eckert joined the response. the farm owner had died months before and half the crops belonged to Eckert.

Gordonville Girl Nearly Drowned Rescue At Night Swim
A Gordonville girl nearly drowned during a swim about a mile from the village when the water was around 18 feet deep. Miss Mitly Groff tied a rope to a bank and struggled. Lester Rineer rushed to help, grabbing Groff and bringing her safely to the shore where she was revived.

Arrest of Youth Clears Up Theft Wave Across Four Counties
Lamwrence Saverns a18 year old of Rising Sun Maryland was arrested by Constable M E Brown and placed in Lancaster County jail. Police say he robbed a Fulton township chicken coop took thirteen hens and spurred a countywide theft investigation. Constable Brown with Constable John Grey traced him to Oakwood Maryland and found two automobile tires in his possession. Saverns is believed to have operated in Lancaster Chester Cecil and Hartford counties and the investigation continues.

Mary Siechrist two and a half months old died instantly when a car carrying Mr and Mrs Clarence Siechrist veered and crashed into a tree between East Petersburg and Landisville near the Pennsylvania railroad crossing on a Sunday evening.
