Mrs Josephine Houck sixty nine wife of Harry Houck of New Holland R 2 died last Thursday morning at Lancaster General Hospital after a brief heart illness. She was daughter of the late John and Eva E Moyer Bitts of Honey Brook. Survivors include four step sons Charles Harry Amos and John all of New Holland R 2 a sister Mrs Elizabeth Evans Narvon R 2 and three brothers William Alvin and John Bitts. Funeral services were held from Esbenshade Funeral Home this borough Monday at 2 00 pm. Interment Red Well Cemetery.

Come and Join Class Holds Annual Banquet

Opening Trout Season Ends With One Fish For Group
On Friday April 15 the opening trout season drew a party from Bareville Pine Ridge Gunning Club and Reading to Sullivan County. A misadventure followed when Richard Harry’s hip boots leaked and he waded into a hole. A thunderstorm soaked the party and a windstorm toppled their tree marked clothing burying gear. In the end the four mile walk back to camp yielded one fish plus canned salmon for supper.
