A Caernarvon Township taxpayers committee secured a meeting with the Board of Road Supervisors at Churchtown Fire Hall. Weeky Stauffer sale reports 52 000 chicks sold
A large crowd attended the Stauffer Sales Company weekly auction on Thursday April 20. Five hundred hogs sixty five horses fifty cows and fifty two thousand five hundred baby chicks were sold with prices hogs three dollars horses sixty dollars cows forty dollars and chicks five dollars fifty cents per hundred. The sale began at 12 30 p m and chicks were first up then continued until 4 00 p m hogs at 2 00 p m horses at 6 30 p m and cows after 8 00 p m. Total sales were not unusual but bidding activity was higher than usual.

Illness After Children Mistake Poison Tablets for Candy
Esther Martin age five and Lester Weaver age two were poisoned after tasting tablets mistaken for candy at the Weaver home in East Earl. Esther handed a tablet to Lester after finding them on a kitchen shelf. Both children were treated by Dr. P. R. Wentz and admitted to the General hospital after the incident involving tester tablets for milk butterfat content.

Suspect Sought in Terre Hill Warehouse Fire

The local post office released the Peace Stamp on Tuesday with a 75 000 000 limit. Orchid colored design features Washington head quarters at Newburgh New York with 1783 1933 across. First day covers to Newburgh exceeded one million. The stamp is the first in the new administration and highly regarded.
