Mrs Loomis Dies After Illness In Lancaster Hospital
Following a long illness Mrs Wil lia M Loomis of North Kinzer avenue North Kinzer borough died Wednesday in Lancaster General hospital where she had been admitted a week ago. She was 44. Born in New Holland she lived here all her life and was a Trinity Lutheran church member. Survived by husband Elmer J Loomis and parents Mr and Mrs Eugene M Rutter of this borough and three sisters Miss Mary Rutter Mrs Pauline Mearig and Mrs Emily Wenger all of New Holland. Funeral at her home Saturday at 2 30 pm with burial in cemetery adjoining Trinity Lutheran church.

Survived by husband and four children Jants and Daniel near New Holland Harbara and Edwin at home and Mr. David Zimmerman near New Holland. Three sisters Mrs Henry Snyder Hinkletown Mrs Katel Hoover and Mrs David Hoover near Farmersville. Services were held Thursday at 9 in the home and 10 in Groffdale Mennonite church. Interment in the cemetery adjoining.

John F. Arment died at his son Ralph Arment's home in Intercourse Sunday afternoon after a ten week illness. Survived by children Amos Arment Lime Waller Ralph Arment Inercourse Mrs. Oscar Siyder Har emperor ge John Arment Mrs Ulla Tlecche and Mrs Walter Steiger of Lancaster also one brother Amos Arment of Strasburg with seventeen grandchildren and three great grandchildren. Funeral services were held at Ralph’s home then at Longenecker's Church on the Strasburg pike. Burial followed in the adjoining cemetery.

Irwin Hoffman, secretary of the Coatesville Y M C A, spoke to the Lions Club in the American Legion Home on service. The meeting covered committee reports and fundraising plans including a minstrel tour to Rossmere Sanitorium April 30 and Leaman Place benefit May 7 to support the Boys Band. The Boys Band concert is set for June 22 with a strawberry social to follow. The Junior Baseball League will launch this year under club supervision. Dr. Clarence W. Richmond aims to place New Holland on the sports map with a track team. Dr. Ellis H. Metford joined the club. Next meeting is May 14.

Fire damages Blue Ball Barber Shop in village building
A fire around 8:40 am at the Blue Ball Barber Shop run by Al Brown in the E S Geist apartment damaged the shop by hundreds of dollars. The blaze started in an adjacent room with a gasoline stove and smoke impeded firefighters. The fire company used chemicals and saved the rest of the building.
