Late last fall Musselman Brothers of this bore added a chopping mill to their feed warehouse to chop car corn. The mill speeds corn processing, with a cob breaker elevating ground feed to grinders and bags, powered by 10 horsepower motors. They also added an electric coal screener and loader, dramatically cutting loading time. Electricity proves a timely relief in labor scarce times.

David R. Leayman a retired Pennsylvania Railroad engineer and Civil War veteran died after a fall in his home at 1387 North Second Street Sunday evening. He suffered a broken neck and base skull fracture and was pronounced dead after family members rushed to him. He is survived by widow Margaret J and children Annie Gardiner William of Lancaster Harry of Columbia and Charles B wounded in action in France with the 28th Division.

Obituary of Augustus Rost Lancaster Civil War veteran dies at 95
Augustus Rost, aged 95, longtime Lancaster resident and Civil War veteran, died April 14 at his daughter’s Philadelphia home. A German revolutionist who escaped in 1848, he served in the Seventy-ninth and Ninety-ninth Pennsylvania regiments and later lived retired. He survived a Civil War wound that cost his right foot, leaving two children, five grandchildren, and twelve great grandchildren. one grandson, Lieutenant Augustus Lawrence, is at West Point. Funeral held Monday at Zion's cemetery. he was a member of St. John's Reformed Church.
